● Moving from spreadsheets

Moving your winery records into Good Job.

You may have several vintages in spreadsheets, notes in different formats, and a system that makes sense to the people who built it. Start by deciding what you need to bring with you.

01

Start with one representative file.

Choose a spreadsheet that shows how you track lots and activity now. Tell us what the columns mean, which records are current, and where you know there are gaps. You don’t need to tidy years of history before asking about the process.

02

Decide what needs to move.

Current lots, vessel balances and the records behind them are a useful starting point. Historical vintages, costs and source documents may need different treatment. Work out the scope before you move everything.

03

Check the result before relying on it.

Keep a copy of your original files. Compare the imported records with the source, paying particular attention to lot identifiers, dates, units, volumes and costs. Resolve gaps before using the records for reporting.

Tell us what you’re using.

Email hello@goodjob.wine with your current system, the file types you have and the history you want to bring over. We’ll help you work out the next step.
